1212    EDWIN GEORGE7     (Gilbert Edwin6, Dyer5, Samuel4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Gilbert Edwin and Ophelia Adelaide (LaSelle) Oatman, was born 5 March 1873, in Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont, and died 9 September 1944 in Lawrence,  Nebraska. 

 

He married on 18 January 1899, Margaret Leetsch in Blue Hill, Nebraska, daughter of William Leetsch and Mary Purcell.

                        A         Gerald Edwin, b. 1931, Red Cloud, NE; d. 30 Dec 1997, Fort Laramie, WY; m. Dixie Joan Owens, 2 Feb 1957, Hastings, NE, daughter of Paul Owens and Hazel Carver.  Gerald served in April 1952, R.A. Army Cpt. (T) 82nd Airborne Army, serving in the Korean War.  He retired from KN Energy in 1986.  In 1987 they moved to Fort Laramie where they owned and operated the Fort Laramie Bar and Grill until 1994.  Children, surname Oatman:

 

                                      I         Kimberly Joan, b. 1974.  Kimberly was first runner-up at the national level of the Make-It-Yourself-With-Wool competition; she represented Wyoming in January 1996.  She also participated in the national competition in February 1995 but did not place.  She received the Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design Award upon graduation from the Colorado Institute of Art, 22 Sep 1995 where she majored in fashion design, her current profession. She m. Sep 2002.
